February 2010 CHAMPS/Life Skills Newsletter

The February 2010 edition of the CHAMPS/Life Skills newsletter is now available. Click here or on the image to the left to read the issue, which features an opening article from Scott Young, photos from the recent SAAC Duckpin Bowling Tournament and newly-adopted NCAA regulations for next year.

Wresting Reigns as 2010 Duckpin Champion

The Greyhound wrestling team took top honors at this year's SAAC Duckpin Tournament, posting a team score of 462. The grapplers avenged a second place finish from a year ago, besting this year's second place team, football, by 27 pins. Football won the event last year.

Johnny Henry of the wrestling team posted the tournament's high individual score, firing off a 114. Second-highest on the day was Luke Harbors of the football team, who posted a round of 106.

It's almost Duckpin Time!

Below you will find a list of the duckpin bowling timeslots and a reminder of what time your team will be bowling. Good Luck to all bowlers!

How to get to Action Bowl Fountain Square: Head north on Shelby Street. Action Bowl is in the Fountain Square Theater building, about three miles up Shelby. It will be on your right. The entrance to Action Bowl is off of Prospect Street (around the corner to the right).

6PM- Women's Basketball, Men's Cross Country, Women's Track & Field, Men's Soccer, Swimming, Volleyball Team 1, Men's Track & Field, Dr. Willey's Team.

7PM- Football, Women's Golf, Women's Soccer Team 1, Women's Soccer Team 2, Women's Soccer Team 3, Men's Tennis, Women's Tennis, WTEN/MTEN/WGLF

8PM- Baseball, Men's Basketball, Men's Golf, Softball, Wrestling, Volleyball Team 2, Jackie's Team, Scott Young's Team

Duckpin Date Change!

UIndy Duckpin Bowlers- The 2nd Annual SAAC Duckpin Bowling Tournament has been moved back a week, from Jan. 24 to Jan. 31, due to the Colts' AFC Divisional Playoff game Jan. 24. Please be sure to email your team rosters and your timeslot preference (6, 7 or 8 PM) to wenningh@uindy.edu or paquettej@uindy.edu as soon as possible.
